Description

Yashica-Mat 124 Medium Format camera for sale. This is my camera that I've had and have been using for the past few months. I've put 10-15 rolls through this camera and have encountered no real issues with it. All shutter speeds work and sound accurate to my ear. Aperture works perfectly. Focusing is amazing with the original ground glass! I have used both 120 and 220 film in this camera and film advance/shutter cocking lever works perfectly. Spacing between frames is even and seems accurate. The leatherette on the camera is actually fairly new and was put on by the person from whom I bought the camera. It's not the original black but rather a brown color and looks really good!
There is some dust on the focusing screen. I've wiped it and blown it but it just seems to be a magnet for dust constantly. Additionally, the lens has several specks of dust on/in it but it has never affected my images. Other than the dust, the lens looks excellent with no haziness, fog, or fungus.
When I purchased the camera I was told the light meter does not work. Most of the meters in these Yashica TLRs do not work nowadays. I never got a battery to test the meter, but my assumption is that the meter does not work. It's a fully manual camera so the meter is not necessary to shoot and using "sunny 16" or a light meter will give you great results!
I'm including with the camera the original lens cap and a lens hood. The lens hood helps a lot in bright condition as I've found that shooting without it leads to flat images lacking contrast. So definitely a big plus to have one and it's a ish value. (Hood will also work on other "Bay-1" mount TLRs like the ones made by Minolta or Rollei)
Don't hesitate to message me with any questions regarding the camera. I've included in the photos two images taken with this camera last month. I also have more on my IG account if you're interested in seeing more from this camera, just let me know. I like this camera but wasn't using it near as much as another TLR I have and decided that one TLR was enough for me right now. It is a great camera and I'd love to see it go to someone who will use and enjoy it!
